A local environmental group says it has amassed £38,000 in one week from donors who want it to legally change a planning decision by Buckinghamshire Council.

Hampden Fields Action Group objects to outline planning permission having been given for a 3,000 homes development with associated infrastructure.

The development is by developer Fairfield Partnership, landowner Aylesbury College and housebuilder Taylor Wimpey.

The action group claimed Buckinghamshire ignored “evidence-based objections”, and argued that outline planning permission had been confirmed despite concerns raised by local NHS bodies over the impact of this quantity of new residents on health facilities.

It also said that the draft Vale of Aylesbury local plan was still undergoing examination and the Hampden Fields area was part of this.

“Buckinghamshire Council have simply parked a large tank on the inspector’s lawn,” the group said.

The council declined to comment.
