The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Alternative Dispute Resolution is to hold an online discussion session on Monday (4 May) to explore how ADR methods can be used to improve fairness, efficiency and outcomes in the UK planning system.

The session from 15:00 to 17:00 will draw on lessons from Scotland and from other jurisdictions around the world. The members of the APPG will hear from experts in the field on what governments at both a local and national level can do to better integrate ADR within the planning process.

The discussion will be led by Christina Rees MP, APPG ADR Vice-Chair. The witnesses are:

  • John Howell MP (APPG ADR Chair)
  • John Pugh-Smith FCIArb (Barrister, 39 Essex Chambers)
  • David Baker (Partner, Baker Rose Consulting)
  • David Holland (Partner, Squire Patton Boggs)
  • Graham Boyack (Director, Scottish Mediation)
