Paula Sussex has become the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO), with effect from today (26 June 2025).
Sussex moves from her role as the Chief Executive of digital identity services provider, OneID.
She has previously held high-profile roles as Chief Executive at the Student Loans Company and the Charity Commission.
In accordance with Section 1 of the Parliamentary Commissioner Act 1967 and Section 1 of the Health Service Commissioners Act 1993, the appointment will be for a fixed term of five years, with the possibility of a two-year extension.
The PHSO makes final decisions on complaints that have not been resolved by the NHS in England and UK government departments and other UK public organisations.
