Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute appoints law firm to £1m contract
The Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute (AISI) has awarded a £1m contract to law firm Dentons.

A directorate within the Department for Science Innovation and Technology, the AISI's mission is to “minimise surprise to the UK and humanity from rapid and unexpected advances in AI”.
It said it will work towards this "by developing the infrastructure (research, tools and technical capability) needed to understand the risks of advanced AI and enable its governance requiring legal advice on various issues".
The contract will run from 3 May 2024 to 4 May 2025, with an optional extension period of a further 12 months.
The appointment of Dentons was made via call-off from a framework agreement.
