Law firm Capsticks has hired Darren Hooker as a partner in its housing team, to lead on governance and regulatory work.

Hooker specialises in advising registered providers, public sector bodies and charities on corporate governance and regulatory issues. He has particular expertise in corporate restructuring, including the establishment of new entities, the consolidation of groups and the merger of organisations.

His appointment from Trowers & Hamlins follows those of Sarah Darvell, a security charging expert, and Naomi Roper, a banking and finance expert.

Chimi Shakohoxha, Head of Housing at Capsticks, said: “Welcoming Darren to our housing team elevates our service offering to a new high. This is not only a win for the firm but also our future and existing clients. The team will continue to innovate and to ensure we remain the firm that our clients want by their side.”

Senior Partner, Rachael Heenan, added: “Our housing team has come a long way in a few short years from when we first entered the sector. Since then the team has gone from strength to strength, ensuring that the focus always remains on working with organisations that make a difference in communities that they serve. Rounding off our full service offering is another step in that direction, it speaks to the firm’s expertise and the quality of service we provide to registered providers.”

Hooker will be based in the firm’s London office.
