Wiltshire to procure ten-lot counsel services framework
Wiltshire Council has given notice of its plans to establish a framework of approved barristers’ chambers.
The local authority, which also recently issued a prior information notice on a proposed framework for solicitors, in-house legal teams and other organisations, said chambers would be “able to compete for specific requirements notified by the council as and when requirements are identified”.
It added: “Chambers may be required to provide advice and/or representation in respect of all Lots. The council requires expertise at all levels and chambers will be expected to offer a range of expertise to provide support at the required level.”
The proposed Lots are:
- Planning
- Property
- Employment
- Commercial
- Civil and Criminal Litigation
- Adult Services
- Childcare Services
- General Local Government Matters
- Monitoring Officer Support
- Judicial Review
The framework is anticipated to commence in September 2023 and will expire four years after the commencement date.
