Bedford Borough Council has issued a prior information notice on its plans to procure a barristers framework contract worth up to £3m.

The local authority said: “The framework is expected to be managed by the Legal Services Team and is expected to be a 4 years contract (2 + 2).

“The contract value will be above the Find a Tender Service threshold and the authority hopes to be able to tender this using the flexibilities available within the provisions of the Light Touch Regime (LTR).”

The contract will be divided into the following lots:

  1. Adults, Children and Education Services.
  2. Governance, Planning, Property and Litigation (GPPL), “covering all other areas of the council’s business”.

The council expects that the tender will be published within the third quarter of 2021.
