Robert Peel QC has been appointed a Justice of the High Court, assigned to the Family Division.

A tenant at 29 Bedford Row, Peel was called to the Bar in 1990 and took Silk in 2010. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2009.

He will take up appointment on 6 October 2020 consequential to the retirement of Mrs Justice Parker.

The appointment is the latest in a series of appointments to fill vacancies in the High Court following elevations to the Court of Appeal and confirmed retirements.

Six new High Court judges were appointed earlier this month, and another ten are said to be on the way.
