DWR Cymru Welsh Water has appointed ten law firms to a legal services framework agreement estimated to be worth £14m.

The framework was divided into the following lots:

  1. Property and property litigation.
  2. Planning and environmental.
  3. Litigation.
  4. Employment and pensions.
  5. Corporate and commercial.
  6. New business (developer services).
  7. Competition law.
  8. Data protection.
  9. Construction.
  10. Treasury.
  11. Health and safety.
  12. Insurance.

The successful firms were:

  • Aaron and Partners (Lot 1)
  • BLM (3, 12)
  • Burges Salmon (7)
  • Eversheds Sutherland (4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11)
  • Foot Anstey (3, 4, 5, 8, 9)
  • Geldards (6)
  • Hugh James (1, 6, 11, 12)
  • Linklaters (10)
  • Slaughter and May (10)
  • TLT (2)

The original contract notice said the framework would run for an initial period of five years, with an option to extend annually for a further two years (5 + 1 + 1) at the sole discretion of DWR Cymru Welsh Water.
