Charlie Cory-Wright QC and Richard Harwood OBE QC have been elected as the new Joint Heads of 39 Essex Chambers.

Harwood specialises in planning, environment and public law, acting for developers, landowners, central and local government, individuals and interest groups.

Cory-Wright meanwhile specialises in catastrophic injury claims and clinical negligence claims.

They took up their positions on 1 October.

Lindsay Scott, Chief Executive of 39 Essex Chambers, said: “Chambers would like to extend its gratitude to our outgoing Heads of Chambers Neil Block QC and Alison Foster QC for the incredible work that they have done during their tenure, not least managing the exponential growth of Chambers both domestically and internationally.

“We are delighted to welcome Charlie and Richard as our new Heads. They have led two of our strongest practice groups for a number of years and we have no doubt they will continue, and build upon, the excellent work of their predecessors.”
