City of Edinburgh fires gun on procurement of £12m legal services framework
The City of Edinburgh Council has launched the procurement of a legal services framework estimated to be worth £12m over four years.
The contract notice says the framework will be made available to East Lothian Council, Midlothian Council, Stirling Council and West Lothian Council. It will also be made available to any other local authority in Scotland.
It has been divided into the following lots:
- Commercial.
- Property & Planning.
- Litigation.
- Employment.
- Major Projects.
- Debt Recovery.
The local authority said: “City of Edinburgh Council’s in-house legal team provides advice and support on all legal matters relating to the council. The team instructs external firms where it has insufficient capacity or where particular specialist advice is required.
“The council wishes to appoint a number of suitably qualified and experienced law firms to a six-lot framework agreement to carry out legal services for the City of Edinburgh Council and other awarding councils. The type and volume of advice required may fluctuate during the period of the contract.”
The contract will be awarded on the basis of quality (weighting: 60) and price (weighting: 40).
