Welsh utility to procure £14m legal services panel
Dŵr Cymru Cyfyngedig (DCC/Welsh Water) has unveiled plans to procure a multi-provider legal services framework worth an estimated £14m.

The legal services will be used by all companies within the Glas Cymru group companies, which include companies outside the whole business securitisation, and not subject to DCC’s statutory water and sewerage licence.
“The requirement for all group companies is for advice that is professional, competent, expert and timely, provides good commercial value and is delivered in a way that makes a positive contribution to the achievement of the best overall outcome for DCC on each occasion,” Dwr Cymru said.
The framework has been divided into the following lots:
- Property and Property Litigation – English and Welsh Language
- Planning and Environmental
- Litigation
- Employment and Pensions
- Corporate and Commercial
- New Business (Developer Services)
- Competition Law
- Data Protection
- Construction contracts — NEC and JCT and Capital Alliance Partner development
- Treasury
- Health and Safety
- Insurance
The framework will run for an initial period of five years, with an option to extend annually for a further two years (5 + 1 + 1) at the sole discretion of DCC.
